We wanted to create a long-casting feeder rod that offers excellent casting performance at an affordable price.
By increasing the blank diameter, we achieved excellent long-casting action while keeping the rod's weight reasonable. Heavy rods are not ideal for long casts because they are difficult to stop at the correct point during the forward stroke, which is essential for a perfect cast.
The responsive IM-8 carbon blank makes it possible to cast heavy weights over long distances. Its fish-playing performance is also excellent: playing smaller carp is enjoyable, yet it can handle almost any size of fish.
The Light tip (1.5 oz) is made from fibreglass; the Medium (2 oz) and Heavy (3 oz) tips are made from carbon.
The enlarged guide train and long-cast handle further improve casting performance. The quivertips also use much larger guides than standard feeder rods. The tip guide has three legs, which greatly reduces line wrapping around the quivertip during casting—a common cause of broken tips.
The large SIC guides also resist wear caused by braided shock leaders.
