A groundbait mix developed for both method and conventional feeder fishing.
High-energy, carbohydrate-rich mixes containing several particle sizes for maximum effectiveness. They contain large amounts of plant proteins, TTX, corn germ, ground and whole oilseeds, biscuit meal, breadcrumb and crushed pellets.
The combination of different particle sizes is important: after dissolving, the fine, flour-like particles create a cloud above the feed and increase its attracting effect. Medium particles provide controlled breakdown, while the larger pieces help keep bigger carp in the swim.
The mixes have a moderate flavour level. During testing, we found that heavily flavoured groundbait sometimes stopped working effectively after a while. Larger particles are coloured differently from the base mix so they stand out and attract the fish's attention.
Proper preparation is essential when using carp groundbait. Add water gradually while mixing, then leave it to stand for 10–15 minutes so the particles can absorb the moisture. Pass it through a groundbait riddle to achieve the best consistency: it should bind when squeezed, yet crumble easily.
