This model is the improved successor to one of the most popular reels in our range, the Long Cast, developed specifically for long-distance fishing.
It has a clean, refined appearance with an elegant, sporty red-and-black design. The Long Cast is robust yet relatively lightweight; even the larger size weighs just 534 g. One of its special features is the 100% dust- and splash-resistant precision quick drag, which can be almost fully locked with half a turn.
The compact, elegant red-and-black body houses a medium 4.6:1 gear ratio. Six ball bearings and one roller bearing provide smooth running. Extremely slow worm-shaft spool oscillation—one full up-and-down cycle in nine handle turns—ensures precise line lay.
The large-diameter 69 mm aluminium long-cast spool allows fast line retrieval, while its newly developed casting lip lets line peel off quickly with much less resistance. A common issue with fixed-spool reels is that careless use can cause line to wind underneath the spool. A barely noticeable anti-tangle frame is mounted on the shaft beneath the spool to prevent this. Two rounded metal line clips are fitted to the spool. The bearing-supported line roller prevents line twist and lays the line precisely.
